Dua Lipa Surprises Mumbai Audience With Levitating x Woh Ladki Jo Classic Mashup

Singer Dua Lipa, who surprised fans with a mashup of her hit song Levitating and the iconic Woh Ladki Jo Sabse Alag Hai from Shah Rukh Khan's Baadshah at her Mumbai concert, has finally shared her thoughts on the unexpected crossover. In a comment on a fan's Instagram reel, Dua Lipa revealed, “I had to, too much fun!!” after the performance went viral online.

The reel, shared by a social media influencer, showcased Dua’s concert performance and was captioned, “SRK aya ya nai (did SRK come or not) (sic).” Dua’s playful response to the fan post further fueled the excitement surrounding the mashup.

The performance, which was a crowd-puller at the MMRDA Grounds in Bandra Kurla Complex as part of the Zomato Feeding India Concert, featured the mashup created by DJ Ruchir. The unexpected fusion of Levitating and the Baadshah track, Woh Ladki Jo Sabse Alag Hai, quickly went viral.

A few days earlier, Dua had expressed her admiration for the viral mashup, admitting she was "blown away" when she first heard it, calling it "amazing."

However, the mashup has also sparked controversy. On December 1, Jay Bhattacharya, the son of legendary singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya, took to social media to voice his frustration over the lack of acknowledgment for his father’s contribution to the iconic track. Jay criticized the mashup for not giving proper credit to his father, whose voice was integral to Woh Ladki Jo Sabse Alag Hai. In a series of posts, he expressed his disappointment that his father’s name wasn’t mentioned and questioned why actors often overshadow musicians in the country. He emphasized that Woh Ladki Jo Sabse Alag Hai is a song credited to Abhijeet and composer Anu Malik, and that the media often fails to recognize the true artists behind hit songs.

Jay’s posts highlighted the need for proper recognition of singers in the Indian music industry, reflecting his frustration with the focus on actors rather than the vocal talents that bring songs to life.
