The third edition of Ajivasan ACT 2024 unfolded successfully on 22nd September at Ajivasan Hall, Mumbai, marking yet another milestone in celebrating the vibrant convergence of art, commerce, and technology in music. Organised by the renowned Ajivasan Music & Dance Academy, founded by legendary singer Suresh Wadkar, the event brought together leading luminaries of the music industry for a day filled with inspiration, powerful performances, and invaluable networking opportunities.
The event began with a thought-provoking panel featuring Aishwarya Bhandari, Priyanka Barve, and Sagarika Das, offering insights into the challenges and innovations shaping the music industry, followed by a captivating performance from Ajivasan’s talented students, whose passion and dedication brought fresh energy to the audience.
A major highlight was the interactive session, "In Conversation with Vishal Dadlani," where the renowned music composer and singer shared invaluable experiences and advice, engaging with the audience on the importance of creativity and innovation in today’s music industry.
As the day progressed, Ajivasan students once again left the audience awestruck with their stunning performances, showcasing the extraordinary talent nurtured within the academy. Following these captivating renditions, the second-panel discussion featured maestros Purbayan Chatterjee, Rakesh Chaurasia, and Taufiq Qureshi, who shared their unique perspectives on the fusion of classical and contemporary music, offering attendees a glimpse into the nuances of Indian music’s rich heritage and its evolving future.
Taking his excitement to another level, Vishal Dadlani stated, “Ajivasan is almost hallowed ground—so many artists have started here, and music truly lives here. Coming here feels like a pilgrimage, and I’m honestly nervous. My message has always been the same: have fun, and let the music take listeners on an emotional journey, whether of joy or sorrow. Real music is emotional communication, beyond technique or technology. Today’s performances by the kids will reflect that truth, and I’m just here to share my love for music and hope it inspires others.”
In between panels, Ajivasan students once again captured hearts with their soulful performances, bridging tradition and modernity in their renditions.
Rakesh Chaurasia shared his excitement stating, "I'm thrilled and excited to be a part of this act for the first time. It's a new experience for both us and the audience, a beautiful opportunity to share our music, culture, and art with the world."
"I'm very excited to be part of the Ajiv Asin Act 2024, especially to have conversations with my fellow musicians about music, art, and the rich cultural heritage of India.", said Taufiq Qureshi
"It's a special evening for us, representing instrumental music and emphasizing the importance of our rich musical traditions. I hope this event fosters a deeper connection between artists and audiences alike.", shared Purbayan Chatterjee
The final conversation of the day was with the iconic Shankar Mahadevan, whose insights on staying relevant in a fast-changing music industry were both enlightening and inspiring for aspiring musicians in the audience.
"I'm truly honored and privileged to be a part of Ajivasan ACT 2024. This event brings together so many great minds, and it's an incredible platform for inspiring the next generation of musicians.
