The much-awaited Pushpa 2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun, is set to hit theaters nearly three years after the release of its blockbuster predecessor, Pushpa: The Rise. Ahead of the release, a special event was held in Chennai on Sunday to launch the song Kissik, featuring Sreeleela. Composed by Devi Sri Prasad (DSP), the song has already created a buzz among fans.
At the event, DSP lightheartedly addressed complaints from producer Ravi Shankar about delays in delivering songs and background scores. “Ravi sir, I know you love me because where there is love, there are complaints. But I think you have more complaints than love,” DSP quipped, adding humorously, “Even today, as soon as I arrived, you said, ‘Wrong timing, sir. You’re late.’ What can I do?”
Expressing his enthusiasm for the sequel , DSP shared, “You all celebrated Pushpa 1 as a festival after its release. But for Pushpa 2, you’ve made it a festival even before it hits the screens. Thank you to fans worldwide for making Pushpa 1 a blockbuster. It was a career peak for me, and I’m equally thrilled for the second part.”
Praising Allu Arjun, DSP said, “I was mind-blown after watching the second half. Bunny, you’ve shown your Viswaroopam in the film. As a cinema fan first, I must say you’ve done an extraordinary job.”
Known for his contributions to hits like Singam, Arya, Gabbar Singh, and Villu, DSP continues to be a prominent figure in Indian cinema. His recent works include Rathnam and Kanguva, with upcoming projects like Good Bad Ugly and Thandel.
Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2: The Rule features a stellar cast including Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil, Jagapathi Babu, and Sunil. The film is set to release worldwide on December 5, 2024, and promises to be a cinematic spectacle, continuing the legacy of its predecessor.
