AR Rahman On ‘Jaane Tu’ From Chhaava: “I Wanted The Music To Echo Timeless Devotion”

Legendary composer A.R. Rahman has unveiled his latest track, “Jaane Tu,” from the highly anticipated period drama ‘Chhaava’, starring Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna. The song, launched in Hyderabad, beautifully captures the essence of love and devotion between Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and Maharani Yesubai.

For this heartfelt love ballad, Rahman collaborates with Arijit Singh, whose classical depth brings an emotional richness to the composition. Speaking about the song, Rahman shared,“With ‘Jaane Tu,’ I wanted to create a melody that echoes the timeless love between Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and Maharani Yesubai while also connecting with modern audiences. The goal was to blend historical and contemporary emotions seamlessly. ‘Chhaava’: A Grand Period Drama

Directed by Laxman Utekar, ‘Chhaava’ is a historical epic that narrates the valiant journey of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, played by Vicky Kaushal. The film, which also stars Akshaye Khanna, will chronicle the legendary Maratha ruler’s reign, beginning with his coronation in 1681.
