This Bollywood Movie Features All Your Favorite Indie Artists
The upcoming month of August is slated to bring the release of the film “Karwaan” which not just brings about a change of narrative with its fresh storytelling but also its out-of-the-box soundtrack. The soundtrack features six original songs in the day and age of Bollywood taking out remixes of old hits.  The music of the film is composed by Anurag Saikia, Prateek Kuhad, SlowCheeta, Shwetang Shankar and Imaad Shah while the lyrics are created by Akarsh Khurana, Prateek Kuhad, SlowCheeta and Imaad Shah. The highlight of the soundtrack is the singers like Arijit Singh, Papon, Prateek Kuhad, SlowCheeta with Anish John, Sanjeevkumar Nair, and Shwetang Shankar and Saba Azad. Some of those are by-products of the rising Indian indie-music scene, namely Slowcheeta, Shwetang Shankar, Papon, Prateek Kuhad and Saba Azad. Two songs called Saasein and Kadam are composed, penned and sung by Kuhad which are typical to his songwriting style of easy-come-easy-go music filled with lyrics that add fuel to your procrastination. Kuhad’s albums are typically in English so we are always delighted to hear his unforgettable voice in refreshing Bollywood movies. Saba Azad features in “Bhar De Hamaara Glass” which is a trippy track, quite fitting to her voice, penned and composed by Imaad Shah. SlowCheeta features in two tracks, namely “Dhaai Kilo Bakwaas” and Heartquake (Aftershocks) but doesn’t leave an impact. Papon features in two songs called "Heartquake and Heartquake (Aftershocks) which is composed by Anurag Saikia which is a quirky track that adds a lightness to the otherwise feel-good but deep soundtrack. Another memorable song is “Chota Sa Fasana” which is sung by Arijit Singh and composed by Anurag Saikia. Its lyrics, penned by the Director Akash Khurana capture the essence of the movie which is road trip like no other. While we can’t guarantee if the movie will manage to spark your imagination, the soundtrack definitely has us hooked enough to hit replay, again and again.
