Apple’s new ‘Setlist’ feature on its music-streaming platform, Apple Music, allows artists to curate custom playlists of songs they will perform at upcoming concerts. These setlists can be integrated with Bandsintown accounts, providing fans with details such as show dates and performance locations.
Apple explains, “This can be a fun way to announce a future tour, reach fans who couldn’t attend the live experience, or reconnect with those who did.” Artists can also choose to hide or delete specific setlists if needed.
Impact on users and artists:
For artists, this feature offers a seamless way to promote upcoming shows on a platform their fans already use. By sharing these setlists on social media, artists can organically build excitement and increase awareness about their tours. Fans, in turn, get a preview of concert setlists and can easily access tour details, enhancing the overall concert experience.
The launch marks a major upgrade to Creator Music, which debuted in 2023 as a hub for pre-licensed tracks.
