“Ye Independent Music Ka Time Shuru Hai”: Diljit Dosanjh’s Powerful Message To Artists

Packed venues and high-energy performances have become synonymous with Diljit Dosanjh concerts. However, his recent show in Indore stood out for more than just the electrifying atmosphere. The singer dedicated the concert to the late poet and lyricist Rahat Indori, while also extending heartfelt wishes to his contemporaries AP Dhillon and Karan Aujla.

A Shout-Out to Fellow Artists

During the concert, Diljit addressed the audience with a message of camaraderie and encouragement for independent artists. “My two brothers—Karan Aujla and AP Dhillon—have also started their tours; best of luck to them,” he said. “This is the beginning of the era of independent music. There will be obstacles—there always are during revolutions. But we will keep moving forward. To all the independent artists out there, double your efforts and hard work; the time for Indian music has arrived.”

Diljit also praised the increasing popularity of Indian artists, evident in sold-out concerts, and concluded with, “Isi ko kehte hai vocal for local.”

A Tribute to Rahat Indori

Diljit’s Indore concert was not without challenges, as certain groups had called for its cancellation. Undeterred, the show went on, with the singer dedicating the evening to the late Rahat Indori. Quoting Indori’s powerful verse, he recited:Agar khilaaf hain hone do, jaan thodi hai.Ye sab dhua hai, asmaan thodi hai.Sabhi ka khoon hai shaamil yahan ki mitti mein...Kisi ke baap ka Hindustan thodi hai.

Diljit’s tribute included more verses from Indori’s celebrated works, which struck a chord with the audience and added emotional depth to the evening.

Exploring Indore: Food and Faith

Diljit’s visit to Indore wasn’t limited to the concert stage. The GOAT hitmaker explored the city’s iconic spots, starting with a trip to Chhappan Dukaan, where he enjoyed a plate of poha and jalebi. Posing for photos and meeting cyclists on a morning ride, Diljit soaked in the local vibe.

He also visited the Shri Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga Temple, attended the bhasm aarti, and sought blessings, rounding off his Indore visit on a spiritual note.

Diljit’s Indore concert was a celebration of art, resilience, and community—a testament to the power of music in uniting people and paying homage to cultural icons.
