Warner Music Group (WMG) has appointed Armin Zerza as its new Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective May 5. Zerza will report directly to CEO Robert Kyncl and succeeds current CFO Bryan Castellani, who will remain in the role until May 5 before transitioning into an advisory capacity to ensure a seamless handover.
Zerza joins WMG with three decades of global experience across the entertainment, tech, and consumer goods sectors. Most recently, he served as CFO at Activision Blizzard, where he was instrumental in the company’s acquisition by Microsoft and held key roles including Chief Commercial Officer. Prior to that, he spent over 20 years at Procter & Gamble, holding CFO positions across multiple major divisions.
“Armin brings 30 years of global leadership with a strong track record in financial performance, commercial innovation, and operational excellence,” said Kyncl. “He’s ideally suited to help us evolve our long-term strategy and deliver value for artists, songwriters, employees, and partners.”
Kyncl also expressed gratitude to Castellani, noting his key contributions during a transformative period for WMG: “Bryan has been a fantastic partner in helping position the company for long-term success. We wish him all the best.”
In a statement, Zerza shared his enthusiasm for the new role: “I’m excited to join Warner Music Group, a forward-thinking force in the music industry. I look forward to working with Robert and the team to help realize the company’s bold vision for growth and innovation.”
Castellani added, “It’s been a privilege to support WMG’s journey through an evolving industry landscape. I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together.”
Zerza holds a master’s degree in Economics and Commerce from the Vienna University of Economics and Business.
