The BBC and Amazon Music have forged a distribution partnership, marking the first time the British network's podcasts will be accessible outside the U.K. Commencing this Monday, subscribers to Prime and Amazon Music Unlimited services can enjoy over 50 of the BBC's most sought-after podcasts, free from advertisements. Noteworthy BBC podcasts in this selection include "Americast," "BBC Global News Podcast," "Dua Lipa: At Your Service," and more.
Additionally, the agreement extends ad-supported listening to the entire BBC catalog for Amazon Music users on the streaming service's ad-supported free tier.
Louise la Grange, SVP Audio, Digital News & Streaming at BBC Studios, remarked, "Whether it's catching up on today's headlines during the morning commute or indulging in true crime on a lengthy road trip, we offer content tailored to diverse tastes." She added, "Audio storytelling is our forte as a global content producer, and through this partnership, we're excited to broaden the reach of our BBC podcasts. We invite Amazon Music listeners to delve into our premium audio storytelling and uncover their next favorite podcast."
Shea Simpson, Head of Podcast Business for Amazon Music, expressed enthusiasm, stating, "Amazon Music is delighted to provide our global audience access to the full array of BBC podcasts beyond the U.K. BBC's esteemed British programs are beloved by fans, and we're thrilled to present 50 of their top titles ad-free for Prime members and Amazon Music Unlimited subscribers."
