Oscar and Grammy-winning composer-singer A.R. Rahman is set to perform at the Attari Border in Punjab as part of a special musical tribute honouring the Border Security Force (BSF).
Titled "Jai Ho – A Tribute to the Bravehearts", the event is being organised by the makers of the upcoming film Main Vaapas Aaunga and will take place on Sunday during the iconic retreat parade ceremony at JCP Stadium, Attari Border, from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
The performance is being positioned as a first-of-its-kind musical salute to the BSF personnel who safeguard India's borders.
Rahman will be joined by filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, actor Vedang Raina, and singers Mohit Chauhan, Pooja Tiwari and Nargis, all of whom have contributed to the film's soundtrack. Representatives from the film's producers,Birla Studios, Applause Entertainment and Mohit Choudhary,are also expected to attend.
Main Vaapas Aaunga, described as a story of love and longing, stars Diljit Dosanjh, Sharvari Wagh, Naseeruddin Shah and Vedang Raina. The film reunites the acclaimed creative trio of Imtiaz Ali, A.R. Rahman and lyricist Irshad Kamil, known for their work on films such as Rockstar, Tamasha and Amar Singh Chamkila.
The film is scheduled to release in theatres on June 12.
