Dhurandhar 2 Music Enters Grammy Race Across Nine Categories

The soundtrack of Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge, composed by Shashwat Sachdev, has been submitted for consideration across nine categories at the 69th Annual Grammy Awards, scheduled for February 7, 2027.

T-Series and B62 Studios are leading the campaign for the film’s music, with the submissions announced by T-Series on X. The entries include the complete soundtrack album and individual tracks across multiple categories.

The full album has been submitted in the Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media category. Among the individual tracks, ‘Phir Se’, featuring Arijit Singh, has been entered for Best Song Written for Visual Media, while ‘Aari Aari’, featuring Bombay Rockers, Khan Saab, Jasmine Sandlas, Reble, Token and Sudhir Yaduvanshi, has been submitted for Best Asian Pop Music Performance.

‘Jaan Se Guzarte Hai’ and ‘Kanhaiyya’ have been entered in the Best Global Music Performance category. ‘Jaiye Sajana’, featuring Jasmine Sandlas and Satinder Sartaaj, has been submitted for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. The other entries include ‘Destiny – Mann Atkeya’ for Best Rap Performance, ‘Vaari Jaavan’ for Best Dance/Electronic Recording and ‘Hum Pyaar Karne Wale’ for Best Remixed Recording.

Grammy Submission Does Not Mean Nomination

The submissions mark the soundtrack’s entry into the Recording Academy’s consideration process, but do not confirm Grammy nominations. The entries must meet the Academy’s eligibility requirements and pass through its voting process before the final nominees are announced.

‘Aari Aari’ Enters the New Asian Pop Music Category

Among the submissions, ‘Aari Aari’ stands out for its entry in the Best Asian Pop Music Performance category, one of the new categories introduced for the 69th Grammy Awards.

The Recording Academy has announced five new categories for the 2027 ceremony, including categories recognising Asian pop music, alongside changes to existing awards. The new category comes amid the growing international reach of Asian music, particularly K-pop and J-pop, and creates another platform for music from across the region.

Aditya Dhar Praises Shashwat Sachdev’s Work

The Grammy campaign follows director Aditya Dhar’s praise for Sachdev’s work on the two-part franchise. In an earlier social media post, Dhar said Sachdev composed nine songs in nine days for the first Dhurandhar film and completed its background score in six days. For Dhurandhar: The Revenge, he said the composer created 14 songs in 11 days and completed the background score in three days.

Dhar also highlighted the global chart performance of both soundtracks, released within three months of each other, noting their reception among listeners.

The two-part Dhurandhar franchise has reportedly earned ₹3,120 crore worldwide, according to trade tracker Sacnilk. The Grammy submissions add an international dimension to the film’s music campaign, with the final outcome dependent on the Recording Academy’s eligibility and voting process.
