Hip Hop India Champ Rahul Bhagat Drops Wisdom: Outperforming Competition Requires Extra Steps

Amazon miniTV - Amazon’s free video streaming service recently closed their one-of-a-kind dance reality show - Hip Hop India which witnessed a curtain fall amidst a grand fanfare and glitz. Highlighting the underground street culture with the magnificent Top 3 facing off in high stakes terrific battles, the grand finale also witnessed power packed performances by Indian rappers Badshaah and Raftaar. Not just that, viewers were in for a surprise as Remo D’Souza and Nora Fatehi set the stage on fire with their breathtaking performances and the evening concluded with Rahul Bhagat lifting the championship belt and taking the title home. The talented boy who is on cloud nine, spoke about the show and his biggest supporter throughout his journey in a candid conversation.

Rahul shared, “HHI is a one-of-a-kind reality show that aired for the very first time in India. Prior to that, I was very interested in participating in reality shows, and I believe God orchestrated everything and gifted me this show. I have been dancing for the last 13 years and believe that this show is the result of my tireless hard work. I went to Kolkata for an audition, and then I came to Mumbai. This show was powerful and unique concept-wise. With several talented dancers, it was tough to crack the audition and progress through the takeover stages one by one. I had to compete with spectacular dancers, and this was a hard competition. The skilled choreographers helped me in setting my choreography well and I worked hard. I got 100 and everyone applauded and praised it so much, making it the most hyped performance of the show.”

When asked about who his biggest strength and support in this whole journey has been, Rahul expressed his heartfelt emotions and revealed how his father has been by his side through every phase, “My father is my biggest support, though he stays in a different city, due to his job. My performance matters to him, and he monitors it on a regular basis. He calls me before and after practice sessions and even in between and motivates me a lot. He taught me that you must focus on your performance regardless of whether you are injured or face any other obstacles. If your competitor is performing one step, you have to be ready to perform four more steps and that’s how you will build your career and stamina. There are several people who share that their father does not support them, but I am grateful that my father is my biggest supporter.”
