Punjabi singer Karan Aujla is making headlines once again, but this time it’s not for his chart-topping hits. The buzz surrounds the jaw-dropping ticket prices for his upcoming ‘It Was All A Dream’ tour, which has left fans and social media users stunned.
Aujla, known for hits like ‘Tauba Tauba’, ‘Gangsta’, and ‘Players’, is set to perform across India this December, with stops in Chandigarh, Bengaluru, New Delhi, and Mumbai. While his popularity remains undisputed, it’s the ticket prices for his concerts that have caused an uproar.
Tickets, available on a booking platform, range from Rs 1,999 to an eye-popping Rs 15 lakh. What’s more surprising? The VVIP tickets, priced at Rs 15 lakh, have already sold out. These exclusive passes offer a private seating area for 15 people, 8 luxury and 2 premium bottles of champagne, and unlimited beer and energy drinks.
In addition to the VVIP section, tickets priced at Rs 7,999, Rs 14,999, and Rs 24,999 have also sold out. Higher-tier options, including Rs 2.5 lakh, Rs 5 lakh, and Rs 10 lakh tickets, are still available.
This phenomenon follows a similar controversy surrounding fellow Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh, who faced backlash for ticket prices reaching Rs 54 lakh during his North American tour. Diljit’s shows reportedly sparked ticket scalping, with resellers charging up to $64,000 (approximately Rs 53 lakh) per ticket. His tour grossed nearly $28 million (Rs 234 crore), cementing his global appeal.
Karan Aujla is currently one of India’s biggest musical acts, with an impressive portfolio of hit songs and Bollywood collaborations. In a recent interview with IANS, Aujla shared insights into the pressures of maintaining his streak of success.
“There’s a certain level of pressure that comes with consistently releasing hit songs,” Aujla admitted. “Each release brings high expectations from my fans and the industry, which can be both motivating and daunting. I always strive to give my best, and while I love creating music, the fear of not meeting those expectations can sometimes be overwhelming. However, I try to focus on my passion for music rather than the charts.”
As fans eagerly await his December performances, the debate over exorbitant ticket prices highlights the ever-growing demand for live music experiences, where exclusivity and luxury increasingly define access to the stars.
