Get ready for an exciting cross-cultural collaboration as Norwegian electronic music artist Alan Walker joins forces with renowned Indian music director Pritam for the first time. Their new pop ballad, "Children Of The Sun," is set to release on September 26 via Warner Music India and features soulful vocals by Vishal Mishra.
The song blends Eastern and Western musical styles, reflecting the duo's shared passion for genre fusion. Their collaboration began in 2019 when Walker and Pritam first met during Walker's Mumbai tour, and over the years, their mutual love for innovative music led to the creation of this track, inspired by Walker's experiences in India.
Speaking about the collaboration, Walker shared, “I met Pritam in 2019, and we've been in touch ever since, working towards releasing a track together. I'm thrilled with the result – the song's message, and how it merges different sounds and languages. It carries a hopeful theme, representing the creativity and strength of today's youth while blending cultures. I have great admiration for Pritam’s musical talent, and I’m excited for the world to hear this!”
The track features an 80s-inspired synthwave vibe, combining Walker's signature electronic beats with Pritam’s composition and Vishal Mishra's emotive vocals. Its lyrics, inspired by the symbolism of the sun, focus on themes of human connection, hope, resilience, and unity. The song also includes a children's choir, further enhancing its message of optimism and joy.
Pritam echoed these sentiments, saying, “Music has the power to heal, inspire, and unite. I hope 'Children Of The Sun' will resonate with listeners worldwide and deliver a message of hope and unity. It has been a joy working with Alan Walker on this project. His innovative approach to music-making and deep understanding of the audience’s taste has made this collaboration truly special.”
To coincide with the release, Alan Walker will kick off his Walkerworld Tour by Sunburn, a 10-city tour starting in Kolkata on September 27 and covering cities like Shillong, Delhi NCR, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi, Pune, Mumbai, and Hyderabad, where it will wrap up on October 20. With an expected audience of over 100,000 fans, the tour marks Walker's largest in India and will include the live debut of "Children Of The Sun."
