Echoes Of Earth Comes To Delhi: A Celebration Of Music, Art, And Environmental Awareness

Echoes of Earth stands as India's greenest music festival  and remains a distinguished music and lifestyle event in the country. It strives to convey a profound message through the harmonious integration of music, art, and conservation.

This year's festival theme, "Symphony of Seasons," honours the pivotal role of the seasons in shaping the natural world. It not only highlights nature's resilience but also champions sustainable practices aimed at safeguarding our ecosystem. The seventh edition will explore an eclectic blend of genres, styles, instruments, and cultural influences, marking it as the largest musical assembly of its kind in India.

Echoes of Earth will host an educational and music showcase in Delhi on November 15, exploring the city’s urban flora and fauna as indicators of changing seasons. A key highlight will be an educational session on "Coexistence with Urban Wildlife" by Benhail Antao, conservationist, wildlife rescuer, and host of the National Geographic Asian Academy Award-winning series Snakes SOS: Goa’s Wildest.

Additionally, a panel discussion titled "Seasonal Sentinels: Trees as Indicators of Change in Delhi's Urban Landscape" will be presented by Conservation Knowledge Partner, WWF-India. This session will offer valuable insights from a panel of experts, including Neha Sinha, author, conservation biologist, and Head of Conservation Partnerships at WWF-India; Anita Mani, author and publisher at Indian Pitta Books; and Vallari Sheel, an urban ecologist. The discussion will be moderated by Vijay Dhasmana, an eco-restoration and rewilding practitioner.

This panel discussion aims to highlight the seasonal changes that Delhi's urban trees undergo while exploring positive and sustainable actions to protect and nurture them for future generations.

The discussion will be followed by a captivating jazz performance by Vieux Farka Touré. Often known as "The Hendrix of the Sahara," is a distinguished Malian guitarist recognized for his distinctive fusion of traditional West African music with global influences. Born in 1981 to legendary musician Ali Farka Touré, Vieux has carved his own path in the music world, debuting in 2007 with a self-titled album featuring collaborations with celebrated musicians like Toumani Diabaté. His work seamlessly blends Desert Blues with rock, Latin, and other African styles, earning him international praise. Albums such as "The Tel Aviv Session," "Mon Pays," and "Ali" highlight his virtuosity and innovative approach, affirming his place as a leading figure in world music.
