YouTube Music Revamps Artist Pages And Introduces New Features On Android And iOS

YouTube Music has announced a redesign of its artist pages on both Android and iOS platforms. According to 9to5Google, the updated layout now features the artist's name left-aligned, accompanied by the subscriber count and follow button. This change aims to make the app more compact and easier to navigate.

In the new version, users can find options to start a radio station or shuffle songs right next to the follow button. YouTube is also reportedly testing a play button in this section. Additionally, a “Latest Release” card is prominently displayed, allowing users quick access before scrolling down to top songs and other content.

This redesign makes the artist pages resemble the album and playlist pages introduced in 2022. The artist page was last updated in 2019, with subsequent Material 3 tweaks.

The redesign is a server-side update, meaning users won’t need to manually update their apps to see the changes. The rollout is currently happening for YouTube Music on both Android and iOS.

Furthermore, YouTube Music is introducing a new feature called Badges. This section, located between Your Recap and Paid memberships, can be accessed by tapping the profile image. Although the Badges feature is not yet available, it appears to be related to a YouTube Premium perk that offers badges based on user activity. It is expected to appear on the YouTube Music profile alongside other listening stats.

Recently, YouTube Music has been testing an AI-powered feature called “Ask for Music.” This feature allows users to search for music through verbal prompts and voice commands. Users can describe music videos or ask for songs similar to a particular track or artist, making the search experience more conversational compared to the existing voice command feature.
