WhatsApp is introducing a new feature that lets users share Spotify tracks directly on their Status updates. Currently available in the Android beta (version 2.25.8.3) and in development for iOS, the update integrates smoothly with Spotify. Users will soon find a “Status” option in Spotify’s share menu, enabling them to post a song preview—including the track title, artist, album cover, and a direct Spotify link—without manually copying links.
This feature simplifies music recommendations, similar to Instagram Stories, but with WhatsApp’s added layer of end-to-end encryption for privacy. While Meta hasn’t announced an official release date, reports suggest the rollout could happen in the coming weeks after further beta testing.
The launch marks a major upgrade to Creator Music, which debuted in 2023 as a hub for pre-licensed tracks.
