Apple Music Gets Major Upgrade In iOS 26.2: Here’s What’s New

Apple Music is getting a notable boost with the release of iOS 26.2, giving users more ways to enjoy their favourite tracks and interact with the platform. One of the standout features is the ability to view lyrics for downloaded songs while offline. Whether you’re on a flight, waiting in line at a concert, or in an area with poor network coverage, you can now sing along without needing an internet connection.

Favourite Songs Just a Tap Away
The update also makes it simpler to reach your go-to tracks. The Favourite Songs playlist now appears in the Top Picks section on the Apple Music home tab, eliminating the need to scroll through multiple menus. This allows listeners to instantly access the songs they play most often, making the experience more seamless and intuitive.

Apple Music’s offline lyrics feature also sets it apart from competitors like Spotify. Users don’t need to manually configure anything; simply updating to iOS 26.2 and ensuring songs are downloaded is enough. If lyrics don’t appear immediately, re-downloading the track resolves the issue.

A More Interactive Music Experience
The update builds on the previous iOS 26 redesign, which introduced the Liquid Glass” interface. The redesign delivers smoother transitions, responsive controls, and interactive elements, such as swiping directly between songs from the mini player and dynamically adjusting menus as users navigate the app.

Supporting Global Music Lovers

Apple Music continues to enhance its international music features. Lyrics Translation lets users see real-time translations of foreign-language songs, while Lyrics Pronunciation guides listeners on singing them correctly. Users can also pin favourite songs, albums, artists, or playlists to the top of their library for quick access. Animated album covers now expand to the Lock Screen, creating a more immersive experience.

Other notable improvements include enhanced Apple Music widgets and the introduction of AutoMix, which blends tracks together automatically, offering a smooth, DJ-style listening experience. While opinions on AutoMix may vary, it provides users a new way to enjoy continuous, flowing playlists.

With iOS 26.2, Apple Music is not just improving convenience, it’s also making listening more interactive, immersive, and globally accessible, giving subscribers more reason to stay tuned in.
