Zee Music Company Secures Landmark Music Rights For Yash’s 'Toxic'

The buzz around Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups continues to intensify, with Zee Music Company securing the music rights in what is being described as one of the label’s most significant acquisitions in recent times. The collaboration with the makers of the film, produced by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, strengthens the film’s expansive pan-India and global rollout strategy while signalling the beginning of a long-term creative partnership.

Headlined by Yash, Toxic is positioned as a large-scale cinematic spectacle, and its soundtrack is being crafted to match that ambition. The album will feature a multi-composer lineup including Ravi Basrur, Vishal Mishra and Tanishk Bagchi. Vishal Mishra has composed four songs for the film, while Tanishk Bagchi contributes one track co-composed with Arslan Nizami and Faheem Abdullah. Ravi Basrur will deliver one song in addition to composing the film’s background score.

The soundtrack is expected to blend emotion, mass appeal and cinematic scale, building a distinctive sonic identity that extends the storytelling of the film. According to the makers, the album aims to function as an immersive narrative layer rather than a standalone musical offering.

Sujal Parekh, Chief Business Officer at Zee Music Company, said the film embodies the essence of pan-India cinema. “We are proud to bring its entire soundtrack across Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam under one unified platform, ensuring a seamless and powerful nationwide musical rollout. The album has been crafted to connect emotionally across markets while retaining a contemporary, mass appeal that resonates strongly in today’s streaming-driven ecosystem,” he noted, adding that the music is poised to become a unifying force across audiences.

Venkat K. Narayana, Chairman of KVN Productions, described the collaboration as the beginning of a larger vision. He emphasised that Toxic demanded a bold and disruptive soundscape, and that the partnership with Zee Music is built on a shared ambition to push cinematic music into new territories. “We want to redefine how music travels with cinema, not just as a soundtrack, but as an experience that lives far beyond the screen,” he said.

Meanwhile, the film’s teaser has further amplified anticipation. Released recently, it clocked massive viewership within 24 hours and sparked widespread online discussion. Yash’s new character reveal, titled Ticket, has led to fan theories and detailed breakdowns, intensifying curiosity around the film’s larger narrative universe. The teaser campaign also strategically introduced glimpses of the ensemble cast, which includes Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth and Tara Sutaria.

Written by Yash and Geetu Mohandas, and directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film is shot in Kannada and English, with dubbed versions planned across Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and other languages. Produced by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is slated for a theatrical release on March 19, 2026.
