In a landmark move to support and champion women in the music industry, Universal Music India has announced a strategic partnership with the Women of Music India Foundation. "I have long been a great supporter of women at work and by extension one of the biggest crusaders of #WomenOfMusic. Promoting an equal, inclusive, and diverse workplace is one of the key KPIs of my leadership at Universal Music India and all our businesses, and it starts with me," Sanyal stated.

Sanyal highlighted his deep involvement with the Women of Music movement from its early stages and praised his colleague and friend, Priyanka Khimani, for her pivotal role in the initiative. "There could be no one better to bring it to its current state and be responsible for its future charter than my dear friend, colleague, lawyer, and the ultimate Woman in Music, also the only Indian Billboard Woman of Music, Priyanka Khimani," he added.

Priyanka Khimani, renowned for her contributions to the music industry, will play a crucial role in driving the partnership forward. Together, Sanyal and Khimani aim to leverage their networks to benefit the distinguished members of the Women of Music India Foundation.

The partnership's primary goal is to address existing gaps and enhance the broader agenda of inclusivity and diversity within the industry. "Both Priyanka and I, along with our teams, are eager to hear what everyone has to say regarding what gaps can be filled and what we can do together to help the broader agenda," Sanyal mentioned.

Sanyal also emphasized the importance of mutual support between genders in championing women, sharing his personal experiences. "Know that sometimes the greatest champions of women are men and vice versa. My team and I are committed to dedicating our time, resources, and networks to a future of true equality and equity."
