AI-native live entertainment platform thumpN has officially launched in India after raising more than $3.75 million in pre-seed funding from a marquee group of investors, including musicians Arijit Singh, Sunidhi Chauhan and Badshah, along with Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Paytm CFO Madhur Deora, Capitalmind co-founder Shray Chandra, and Hyperlink Brand Solutions founder VG Jairam.
Designed to simplify live event discovery, thumpN aims to connect fans with concerts, comedy shows, festivals, sports, nightlife and regional experiences through an AI-first approach. The platform enters a market that hosts more than 40,000 live events annually across 319 cities, where event discovery is often fragmented across social media, messaging apps and word of mouth.
At the heart of the platform is Shadow, thumpN's conversational AI agent, which recommends events based on users' preferences and natural language conversations rather than keyword searches. The AI is supported by a network of artists, promoters, venue insiders and genre experts whose inputs help refine recommendations over time.
"This started from a simple frustration. Discovery today is fragmented across social feeds, algorithms, WhatsApp groups and word of mouth," said Varun Khare, CEO of thumpN. "We're building thumpN to feel natural, allowing fans to discover experiences through conversations while helping organisers grow with better infrastructure."
Highlighting the platform's AI-first design, Shreyas Srinivasan, Director and Strategic Advisor at thumpN, said the company rebuilt the ticket discovery experience from the ground up instead of layering AI onto a traditional search engine.
Beyond helping fans discover events, the platform also offers AI-powered onboarding and audience insights for organisers, artists, venues and promoters, enabling them to market and scale their events more effectively.
Strategic Advisor Alaap Gosher said the future of live entertainment lies in building stronger relationships between fans and artists, adding that platforms enabling meaningful discovery will play a key role in shaping the industry's next phase of growth.
Built by a team with over two decades of experience in India's live entertainment sector, thumpN launches as a pan-India platform serving audiences across metro cities as well as rapidly growing Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets. The platform is now live with a growing catalogue of music, theatre, comedy, sports, festivals and community-led experiences.
