After nearly four years of anticipation, Spotify’s HiFi audio streaming may finally launch to rival other music platforms like Amazon Music, Apple Music, and Tidal, as reported by Bloomberg on Saturday. While Spotify is still finalizing the details, the new subscription is expected to cost an additional $6 per month, raising the total monthly fee to $18.
Spotify’s HD audio service could be branded as “Music Pro” and offered as an add-on to its existing premium plan, priced at $11.99. This model sets it apart from competitors like Apple Music, which provides HD music streaming to all subscribers at no extra charge.
Set to launch in 2025, Music Pro in India might be priced around Rs 150, based on the current Rs 119 cost for the premium plan.To entice users, the Music Pro subscription may offer extra benefits such as song remixing features, early access to concert tickets, discounts, and more.
Spotify first revealed its HiFi music tier in 2021, but after years of delay, it now seems poised for a 2025 release.
