Downtown Music has announced the unexpected passing of their esteemed Chief Technology Officer, Manan Vohra. Described as a "beloved and highly respected" figure within the company, Vohra's sudden departure has deeply saddened the Downtown Music community.
Vohra, who was hailed by Downtown as an "inspirational and visionary leader," joined Downtown-FUGA as the Global Head of Technology and Product in 2020. His profound impact on the company's digital transformation and innovation was widely acknowledged.
Survived by his wife, Peggy Struck, and his mother, Downtown expressed their heartfelt condolences to Vohra's family in a statement released on Friday (April 26).
Recognized for his extensive expertise in product and technology, Vohra's outstanding performance led to his promotion as the CTO of Downtown Music in March 2023. In this role, he spearheaded the group-wide advancement of Downtown's technology initiatives.
Prior to his tenure at Downtown, Vohra served on the DDEX board and held the position of CTO at 7 Digital.
Pieter van Rijn, CEO of Downtown Music, fondly remembered Vohra as "one of the most caring, kind, intelligent, and inspirational people" he had the privilege to know. Van Rijn added, "He was our close colleague and a friend. He was such a great part of the joy working at Downtown."
