Devotional music took on a new live format in Mumbai on Sunday as spiritual orator and singer Jaya Kishori presented her first-ever Divine Concert at the Dome, NSCI. Produced by Saregama Live in association with Epitome Live, the event blended the spiritual essence of bhajans with the scale and production of a contemporary live concert.
Featuring live musicians, immersive visuals and a carefully curated stage production, the concert aimed to create a shared spiritual experience while remaining rooted in devotion and tradition. Conceived by Jaya Kishori, the format was designed as a space where families could come together, disconnect from the pace of everyday life and reconnect through devotional music presented in a contemporary setting.
The audience reflected the concert's cross-generational appeal, with families, children, young professionals and senior citizens attending together. The evening also welcomed elderly residents from Khushiyan Foundation, many of whom experienced a live devotional concert for the first time.
Several personalities from the entertainment industry, including Meet Bros, Salim Merchant, Manoj Muntashir, Abhay Verma, Mihir Ahuja and Sachet-Parampara, were also present for the event.
Speaking about the vision behind the initiative, Jaya Kishori said, "I wanted to create a space where families could come together, leave behind the stress of everyday life and connect through music. One of my biggest hopes was to encourage younger audiences to experience spirituality in a way they could relate to. By presenting bhajans with the scale and energy of a live concert, I wanted to show that our traditions, music and roots can be just as uplifting, joyful and inspiring in a modern setting."
Commenting on the concept, Siddharth Anand Kumar, Executive Vice President – Films, Series & Events, Saregama, said, "Live entertainment is constantly evolving, but at its heart it has always been about bringing people together. We believe experiences rooted in our culture can be presented in ways that feel contemporary without losing their authenticity. Divine Concert is an extension of that belief,a format that celebrates devotional music while creating a shared live experience that resonates across generations."
As the evening concluded, many attendees remained at the venue, reflecting on the experience. With its blend of faith, music and live production, Divine Concert marked the debut of a new format envisioned by Jaya Kishori and brought to life by Saregama Live and Epitome Live, seeking to make devotional music accessible to audiences across generations.
