SymphonyOS Joins Forces With CD Baby, Bringing AI-Powered Marketing Tools To 2 Million Independent Artists

CD Baby, the digital music distribution platform for independent artists, has entered into a partnership with SymphonyOS, an AI-powered marketing tool provider. This collaboration seeks to democratize access to advanced marketing resources for emerging musicians who may not have the support of large marketing teams, according to a joint statement from the companies.

Under this partnership, SymphonyOS will equip CD Baby artists with tools to elevate their businesses, execute effective marketing campaigns, and enhance their presence on Digital Service Platforms (DSPs), ultimately boosting sales and streams. CD Baby President Scott Williams expressed enthusiasm about incorporating SymphonyOS into their offerings, emphasizing the commitment to providing innovative tools for artist distribution and marketing.

SymphonyOS, originating from Integral Studio, founded by Chuka Chase and Megh Vakharia in 2016, initially specialized in building websites for artists like SZA and Travis Scott. Evolving into merchandise and digital marketing, the agency gained valuable insights into fan interactions, leading to the creation of SymphonyOS in 2022. This platform, the first to focus on automating fanbase growth, utilizes AI-driven automated marketing tools. These tools generate and execute personalized campaigns tailored to each artist’s unique audience and goals, considering factors such as target audiences, specific channels, and optimal marketing timing.

SymphonyOS analyzes campaign and Instagram insights, offering easily understandable visualizations for content tracking. The platform also introduces a 'Forever Saves' feature, allowing fans to subscribe to a creator’s releases. CD Baby, with approximately 2 million artists and creators, aims to leverage SymphonyOS to help its users stand out in a competitive landscape with over 120,000 daily uploads to DSPs.

The partnership ensures that independent creators on CD Baby receive discounted access to SymphonyOS Pro through CD Baby’s Tools & Promotions page. CD Baby, owned by Downtown Music Holdings, boasts a vast catalog of over 20 million tracks produced by its creators. This collaboration is expected to assist artists in gaining visibility and growing their fan bases amid the intense competition for listener attention.

SymphonyOS previously secured $1 million in a pre-seed fundraising round from strategic investors in the music and tech sectors. The partnership with CD Baby follows a previous collaboration with UnitedMasters, a platform for indie artists, to provide automated music marketing tools. For CD Baby, this venture expands its services after launching the CDB Boost feature in November, focused on aiding indie songwriters in royalty collection and sync opportunities. The move aligns with CD Baby's strategic shift towards streaming services, discontinuing the distribution of vinyl and CDs in May 2023 to adapt to the digital landscape dominated by platforms like Spotify, Amazon Music, and Apple Music.
