Wicked Sunny Teams With Times Music For Debut EP Single ‘Long Way From Home’

Wicked Sunny has unveiled “Long Way From Home,” the first single from his debut EP The Local Kid, released via Times Music. Featuring MC Square and singer Radhika Bhide, the track explores themes of homesickness, ambition and the emotional journey of leaving one’s hometown in pursuit of bigger dreams.

Born in Prayagraj and now based in Mumbai, Wicked Sunny is known for his introspective writing and distinctive voice within India’s evolving hip-hop scene. With “Long Way From Home,” the rapper delivers one of his most personal releases to date, reflecting on the emotional distance between where one comes from and where one hopes to reach.

The song serves as the opening track of The Local Kid, a five-track EP that chronicles the experiences of a small-town artist navigating life in a fast-moving city. The project moves through themes of struggle, identity, ambition and resilience across tracks including “Baawre,” “Big Drama,” “Laal,” and the closing number “Udta Teer.”

Speaking about the release, Wicked Sunny said, “Long Way From Home is the most honest thing I have written. There is still a version of me sitting in a room in Prayagraj thinking Mumbai is too far away. This song is for that boy, and for every kid who packed a bag with more hope than money.”

MC Square added that he instantly connected with the emotional honesty of the track. “There’s a certain loneliness and hunger in the song that felt very familiar to me. I wanted my verse to sound truthful and lived-in,” he said.

Radhika Bhide described the song as emotionally intimate, saying the hook was designed to feel like “a voice from home” during difficult moments.
