Universal Studios And Republic Records Unveil Star-Studded Wicked: The Soundtrack

Universal Studios, in collaboration with Republic Records and Verve Label Group, has released the eagerly awaited Wicked: The Soundtrack, coinciding with the global premiere of Universal Pictures’ new cinematic event, Wicked. Featuring reimagined versions of beloved songs like “Defying Gravity,” “Popular,” “Dancing Through Life,” and “The Wizard and I,” the soundtrack is poised to captivate audiences worldwide.

With music and lyrics by the legendary Grammy and Oscar®-winning composer Stephen Schwartz, the soundtrack brings together an all-star cast. Emmy, Grammy, and Tony Award-winning performer Cynthia Erivo (Harriet, Broadway’s The Color Purple) takes on the role of Elphaba, while Grammy-winning global icon Ariana Grande shines as Glinda.

Reflecting on the release, Stephen Schwartz remarked, "I am so proud of our Wicked soundtrack. These world-class singers and this wonderful full orchestra have created a recording that will thrill fans of the Broadway cast album and those hearing these songs for the first time."

The soundtrack also showcases the musical talents of Oscar® winner Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible, Olivier Award winner Jonathan Bailey (Bridgerton, Fellow Travelers) as Fiyero, and pop culture icon Jeff Goldblum as the Wizard of Oz.

Wicked: The Soundtrack is available across formats, including CD, double vinyl, double picture disc, and digital. Target offers exclusive editions, including split pink-and-green vinyl and a CD with a fold-out poster, while Barnes & Noble features an exclusive CD with alternate cover art.

A Cinematic and Musical Spectacle
Directed by Jon M. Chu (Crazy Rich Asians, In the Heights), Wicked is the first installment of a two-part cinematic celebration, with Wicked Part Two set to hit theaters on November 21, 2025.
