TuneCore, part of Believe, has released the fourth edition of its TuneCore Accelerator Report, highlighting strong growth in streaming and fan engagement for self-releasing artists worldwide.
Launched in 2023, TuneCore Accelerator is positioned as a key artist development and audience growth platform, combining proprietary technology with DSP marketing tools to help independent artists cut through an increasingly crowded digital music landscape. With over 100,000 tracks uploaded daily to streaming platforms, the platform focuses on discovery, fan engagement, and revenue diversification.
According to the report, more than 515,000 artists have enrolled in TuneCore Accelerator, generating over 50 billion new streams and 15 billion track discoveries since its launch. Over the past year alone, the platform delivered 24 billion new streams for selected artists, marking a 17% year-on-year increase.
Brian Miller, Chief Revenue Officer at TuneCore, noted that while music consumption has shifted from downloads to streaming and social-led discovery, the company’s core mission remains unchanged: helping independent artists reach audiences and build sustainable careers.
The report also highlights key milestones, with over 14,000 artists earning streaming royalties for the first time, and another 14,000 crossing one million streams. Nearly 500 artists surpassed the 100 million stream mark, while close to 42,000 artists reached performance levels placing them in the top 25% globally across DSPs.
Back catalogue tracks have also seen renewed momentum, generating 24% more revenue when activated through the platform. Growth was recorded across genres, led by R&B/Hip-Hop, Latin, Pop, and Electronic music, while key markets including the US, Brazil, UK, and Mexico posted strong streaming gains.
In India, rising hip-hop act DOTM emerged as a case study, leveraging TuneCore Accelerator to scale reach, with nearly one million streams generated through the platform and increased visibility following an appearance on MTV Hustle 4.
Akhila Shankar, Head of TuneCore South Asia, emphasised the platform’s role in amplifying culturally rooted music at scale, noting that technology can help regional sounds travel globally with precision.
As TuneCore continues to refine its Accelerator platform, the report positions it as a critical infrastructure layer in the independent music ecosystem, enabling artists at every stage to build audiences, unlock new revenue streams, and sustain long-term careers in the streaming era.
