Cyrus says becomes India's longest-running Podcast; Crosses the 1000-Episode Mark

Coming from the IVM Podcasts stable, Cyrus Says, a relentlessly fun and humorous podcast hosted by iconic comic Cyrus Broacha has emerged as the longest-running podcast in India. Having just completed 1000 episodes, Broacha has been unstoppable, discussing life, politics, sports, traffic, food and everything under the sun in his inimitable style with an interesting roster of guests. Famously known for his humour, his most notable roles have been as a comedian, actor, TV host, theater personality, anchor and political satirist.

The first episode premiered in the year 2015, making it India’s first podcast to be running for 7 years. Some of the famous guests who have graced the podcast include Deepika Padukone, Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia Deshmukh, Ananya Pandey, Malaika Arora and Tapsee Pannu to name a few. Apart from Bollywood names, the episodes have seen a wide variety of guests from all walks of life including chefs, authors, journalists, fitness experts, startup founders, business leaders, musicians, digital content creators and illusionists!

Commenting on the milestone, host Cyrus Broacha said, “We never aimed at being the or no.1 or anything of that sort. The podcast started and has been run with all heart to date. Before we began I saw a mixed reaction, more importantly warning me about shifting from a mass video media like television to a rather untapped, nascent audio medium. Many felt I would lose out on relevance, which I had the gut feeling would only increase if we did a good job. I saw podcasts as a new creative outlet and a fresh way of doing things and today it makes me so happy to be a part of this medium, which I have seen grow from a minuscule industry to where it is today.  Kudos to the team at IVM Podcasts for making this possible”

Kavita Rajwade and Amit Doshi Co-Founders, IVM Podcasts- Pratilipi, shared their thoughts on the occasion “Everyone is forever in awe of Cyrus's hilarious takes on life. He brings a sense of ease to the medium and we are truly grateful to him for trusting, co-creating and being with us on this eventful ride. Wins like this feel like a huge payoff behind our vision of growing the podcast business in the country. We have seen podcasts shift from the fringes to mainstream attention, slowly and surely. To be home to the longest-running podcast in India feels surreal. We are headed to greener pastures as we continue to make a mark in the audio industry and here is hoping we hit the 2000 episode mark sooner!”

Throughout the years, Cyrus Says has earned cult status in the podcast industry with its ingenious episode topics and insightful take by the host and other interesting personalities. The podcast broadcasts throughout the week, with new episodes dropping daily from monday to friday on IVM Podcasts and all major audio streaming platforms.
