Rajpal Yadav Receives Rs 1.11 Crore Aid From Music Producer Amid Cheque Bounce Case

Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav has received a significant financial show of support amid his legal troubles related to a long-pending cheque bounce case dating back to around 2010. After surrendering to authorities at Tihar Jail earlier this week in connection with the roughly Rs 9 crore debt case, the veteran comic actor has been backed by members of the entertainment fraternity and beyond.

In a notable development, music producer Rao Inderjeet Singh Yadav, owner of GemTunes Music, has pledged Rs 1.11 crore to assist Rajpal Yadav during this difficult period. In statements shared with media and on social platforms, Rao Inderjeet said the gesture was about solidarity with a fellow artist who has “brought immense joy to audiences” and emphasised that the industry should support its own in times of need. He described the contribution as an act of humanity and urged others to also come forward.

This marks a continuation of support from others: actor Sonu Sood has publicly offered Yadav a role in his upcoming work along with a signing amount, while politician Tej Pratap Yadav announced Rs 11 lakh in aid for the actor’s family. Fellow entertainer Gurmeet Choudhary and industry bodies have also voiced encouragement and called on peers to help.

Rajpal Yadav’s cheque-bounce battle stems from a loan taken to finance his directorial project, which ultimately failed at the box office and triggered legal action under the Negotiable Instruments Act after multiple dishonoured cheques. Despite earlier efforts to settle part of the dues, the Delhi High Court recently rejected his final plea for more time, directing him to surrender and begin serving a six-month sentence at Tihar.

The wave of support highlights not just financial assistance but a broader appeal within Bollywood and beyond to help an industry veteran navigate the fallout from a protracted legal and financial crisis.
