On August 31, 2017, T-Series released the trailer for Raja Krishna Menon's latest film "Chef". The film features music by the Independent Artist, Raghu Dixit. The trailer revealed music a preview as well, and it sounds absolutely amazing. Chef is a remake of the Hollywood film by the same name. While everyone speaks of the Film itself, we're going to throw some light on the background score, and OSTs of the film given by Raghu Dixit and what to expect. The music sounds as promising as the movie does.
Raghu Dixit not too long ago started his journey as a music director for multiple regional films as well as bagged his latest Bollywood project "Chef" too. RDX Productions, a Raghu Dixit Venture is a record label started in 2016. Most of his regional films are published under this label, the first one being "Happy New Year Kannada Movie By Pannaga Bharana". The musician, a composer, music director, as well as film producer for upcoming Kannada movies, has taken the industry by storm down south India.
Chef has an exceptional background score, it reflects Dixit's original sounds, style, and folk music. The trailer is very promising, showcases the culturally rich Indian cuisines, great acting glimpses by Saif Ali Khan, Svar Kamble, Padmapriya and Chandan Roy Sanya the music too has naturally blended in. The song featured in the trailer is "Shugal Lagale" in the voice of Raghu Dixit himself. We can see glimpses of the band performing in the trailer as well. The movie has some great songs, one of the tracks also features the voice of Vishal Dadlani, as shared by Dadlani during a live Instagram session on his profile.
What's really interesting to note here is the experimentation in the choice of music by the film director (Raja Krishna Menon). Menon has an incredible choice of music and is said to be very experimental and flexible when it comes to his brief to the music director. The music showcases the freedom the music director and his team got from the film director's end for the artists to stay true to their natural sounds. Which is very rare to be found, trust us when we say that. The film music is going to hit the top the charts as per Loudest predictions.
The music of this film is far away from "The Bollywood Music Epidemic" which is more about formula replication of "Super Hit Songs". The tracks in the film represent a great variety of music, you'd hear the happy song for an uplifting morning, pathos for your lost soul, the party song for your drunk nights, the perfect song for your road trips, and even the get psyched track!
