Subramaniam Academy Of Performing Arts (SaPa) Kicks Off A Digital Campaign To Celebrate World Music Day 2023

A global leader in accessible music education, art, and culture, Subramaniam Academy of Performing Arts (SaPa), today launched a Digital Campaign to celebrate World Music Day.  The campaign is conceptualized around the Indian Music Icon and the Founder & Chairman of the Academy Dr L S Subramaniam’s dedication to rendering music education to the community and society at large.

Dr. Subramaniam is certain that music is a reflection of one’s culture & traditions and it takes a significant number of years for a dedicated learner to become a musician. The video showcases the performance of Dr. Subramaniam in the background and his strong belief that music can be the best companion for everyone. His children Bindu Subramaniam and Ambi Subramaniam and other teachers are seen equipping students with new skills in line with the evolving music industry.  Vibrant stage performances of SaPa students, exploring their creative potential add further flavor.

The music lessons shown are a blend of traditional wisdom and modern teaching methods and include violin and Carnatic vocal classes, choir classes, and Zoom recitals.  SaPa’s students also have exposure to global music which is portrayed in the Norwegian performance here.

Dr. L S Subramaniaim and Kavita Krishnamurti Subramaniam founded SaPa, a platform known for music education in 2007.  Their children, Bindu Subramaniam and Ambi Subramaniam who are accomplished musicians strongly believed in making music of children’s lives and launched the ‘SaPa in Schools’ Program among other initiatives to advance music education, where they continue to mentor and nurture new performers.  SaPa in Schools has reached over 30,000 children, integrating music into their school curriculum. Through this program, SaPa provides schools with comprehensive methodologies, curriculum materials, assessments, and trained teachers, creating a supportive environment for music education and offering career pathways for young musicians.

Speaking on the the launch, Bindu Subramaniam, the Dean of SaPa and the CEO and Co-Founder of ‘SaPa in Schools’ said, “Through this campaign, we would like to stress that our approach to teaching goes way beyond music.  We are leveraging music which is a powerful tool to help students learn essential life skills, social-emotional learning, 21st-century skills, and interdisciplinary connections.  We believe in transforming lives through music as we continue to foster well-rounded musicians to play a crucial role in the community in meaningful ways.”

Through this video, the brand is giving a glimpse of how music is enjoyed by all the students, and teachers at SaPa.

As part of World Music Day celebration, SaPa announced the launch of a New Foundational Program – an introduction to music.  It also hosted music performances serving social causes at Senior Citizens’ Homes, Homes for Elderly Women, and a Cancer Care Hospital in Bengaluru City.
