Warner Music Group Opens Global Product And Engineering Hub In Bengaluru

Warner Music Group (WMG) has announced the official opening of its new global product and engineering hub in Bengaluru, expanding the company’s technology footprint in India.

The new facility builds on WMG’s existing commercial and creative presence in the country, bringing its technology capabilities closer to its wider music ecosystem.

Led by Mahesh Rao, Director of Software Engineering and Site Lead, the Bengaluru team will develop and manage products that feed directly into WMG’s global technology stack. The hub will also contribute to the company’s broader technology architecture and engineering strategy.

The facility will support technology powering global music distribution, high-volume data pipelines and AI-driven forecasting and trend analysis. It will also develop backend infrastructure, audience insight engines and marketing data products for use across WMG’s global operations.

The launch follows a 12-month incubation phase during which WMG established its local engineering capabilities ahead of opening the dedicated facility.

Commenting on the launch, Mahesh Rao said, “Bengaluru’s exceptional tech talent pool makes it the ideal location to build our new technology stack. We are excited to expand our team locally and solve complex engineering challenges that shape the future of the music industry.”

WMG is continuing to recruit for engineering, machine learning, product management and technical leadership roles at the Bengaluru hub.
