The official soundtrack for Bait, created by and starring Riz Ahmed, is now out, featuring six tracks from the upcoming series.
The album blends global and South Asian influences, led by standout songs including Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) by Anish Kumar featuring Arooj Aftab, Price Of It All by Jorja Smith, and the newly released Pulling Me Back by Jay Sean featuring Véyah.
“Pulling Me Back” stands out as a high-energy track driven by British Asian influences, combining Véyah’s vocals with Jay Sean’s signature style to capture the intensity of modern relationships.
The soundtrack brings together a diverse lineup including Anish Kumar, Arooj Aftab, MC Shabba D, Origin Unknown, Amir Amor and Véyah, reflecting the show’s cross-cultural narrative.
Set in contemporary London, Bait follows Shah Latif, a struggling British Asian actor whose life spirals after landing a final audition for the next James Bond. The six-part series blends psychological thriller, comedy, and family drama, exploring themes of identity, fame, and belonging.
Music plays a central role in shaping the series’ tone, drawing from cinematic orchestration, 1970s South Asian film music, and contemporary UK sounds. “I don’t think an album like this has really been put together before,” Ahmed said, highlighting its mix of artists from South Asia, the UK, and the US.
An extended soundtrack album, featuring additional artists such as KR$NA, AJ Tracey, Raf Saperra and others, is set to release on April 16 alongside the official music video for “Price Of It All.”
