Singer-songwriter and producer Talwiinder has released his latest track ‘Blues’, marking the third single from the upcoming Bait “inspired by” soundtrack album, set to release on April 16. He joins a global lineup that includes Jorja Smith and Jay Sean.
Performed in Punjabi, ‘Blues’ delivers a hypnotic sonic experience, with Talwiinder’s vocals weaving seamlessly into layered percussion, almost functioning as a rhythmic instrument. The track’s lyrics centre on self-belief and the rewards of perseverance, reinforcing his signature introspective style. With nearly 2 billion streams and over 12 million monthly listeners on Spotify, Talwiinder continues to cement his position as a globally resonant voice in contemporary music.
The Bait soundtrack brings together a diverse and high-profile roster of artists, including Anish Kumar, Arooj Aftab, MC Shabba D, Amir Amor, Véyah, alongside Jay Sean and Jorja Smith, among others.
Bait is a six-part genre-bending series that follows Shah Latif, a struggling British-South Asian actor whose life spirals after landing a final audition to play the next James Bond. Set in contemporary London, the show blends psychological thriller elements with comedy and family drama, exploring themes of identity, ambition, and belonging.
Music plays a central role in shaping the series’ narrative and atmosphere. The soundtrack reflects its hybrid cultural identity, drawing from cinematic orchestration, psychedelic South Asian film influences of the 1970s, and contemporary UK and South Asian sounds.
The official soundtrack release will be followed by an extended “inspired by” album on April 16, alongside the music video for ‘Price Of It All’. The album will feature a wide range of global artists including Raf Saperra, KR$NA, ENNY, AJ Tracey, Riz Ahmed, Natasha Noorani, and more.
‘Blues’ follows earlier releases from the project, including Jay Sean’s ‘Pulling Me Back’ featuring Véyah and Jorja Smith’s ‘Price Of It All’, which also serves as the series’ theme song.
