Billboard India, launched in partnership with Other Side Ventures Pvt. Ltd., has announced the appointment of Mohini Chaudhuri as its new Content Strategy Director, further strengthening its leadership team as the platform expands its presence in India's rapidly evolving music ecosystem.
A seasoned media professional and journalist with nearly two decades of experience spanning journalism, cinema, and digital media, Chaudhuri will oversee Billboard India’s multi-platform content strategy and editorial direction.
In her new role, she will lead the development of the platform’s editorial voice, drive content innovation across text, video, and multimedia formats, and work towards expanding its digital footprint through a combination of audience insights and creative storytelling.
Chaudhuri will also be responsible for guiding a growing team of writers, creators, and storytellers, with a focus on chronicling the cultural trends, artists, and movements shaping contemporary Indian music.
She joins Billboard India with extensive experience across some of the country’s leading media and entertainment platforms, including Spotify, Film Companion, The Times of India, and RPSG Digital Media. Throughout her career, she has built a reputation for identifying emerging cultural trends and leveraging digital tools to create and scale engaged audiences.
Commenting on the appointment, Priyanka Khimani, who spearheaded the launch of Billboard India in the country, said, “As we build Billboard India into a truly premium, trusted platform, the strength of our content is what will define us. Mohini’s exceptional background makes her the perfect fit for this critical position. She possesses a rare combination of flawless editorial judgment and deep technical awareness of how modern audiences consume stories. Her philosophy that high-quality, tasteful journalism is the ultimate builder of brand equity aligns perfectly with our vision, and we are absolutely thrilled to welcome her to the leadership team.”
Sharing her thoughts on joining the company, Chaudhuri said, “The Indian music industry is experiencing an unprecedented cultural renaissance, and Billboard India stands at the absolute epicenter of this shift. Over my 18 years in journalism and digital media, I have firmly believed that even in a highly data-driven world, editorial integrity, effective storytelling, and a genuine commitment to platform artists are what ultimately forge long-term brand authority. I am incredibly excited to join the leadership team and explore the extraordinary depth of Indian music across genres and geographies.”
The appointment comes as Billboard India continues to build its executive leadership structure. It follows the recent appointment of Preeti Nayyar as Chief Operating Officer, signaling the company’s intent to scale both its commercial and editorial operations.
With Chaudhuri and Nayyar joining the leadership team, Billboard India is positioning itself to strengthen its role as a leading platform for music journalism, artist discovery, and industry storytelling, while maintaining a strong focus on premium editorial standards for artists, brands, and audiences alike.
