Haryana Police Launch Campaign To Curb Gun Culture, Gang Glorification In Music

Haryana Police has stepped up its campaign against the glorification of gangsters, gun culture and violence in music and digital content. The Special Task Force has engaged with Haryanvi singers, lyricists and producers, urging them to avoid content that glamorises crime.

As part of the drive, 67 songs have been removed from digital platforms, while an STF committee is monitoring music videos and online content promoting gang culture and violence.

The police has also counselled around 200 youths identified as being influenced by gangster culture on social media. DGP Ajay Singhal said the focus is not only on legal action but also on preventing young people from viewing criminal lifestyles as aspirational.

The campaign comes amid wider efforts in Haryana to curb the use of social media and music to promote weapons, gang culture and criminal activity.
