Femme Music Launches New Live IP ‘Femme Power’ To Spotlight Female Artists

Femme Music, India’s only independent label dedicated entirely to female artists, is set to launch a new live music property titled Femme Power on June 7 at The Humming Tree.

Founded by artist-producer Sanoli Chowdhury and UK-based music industry professional Vinod Gadher, Femme Music aims to build an ecosystem where female artists can lead, own their narratives, and develop sustainable careers in India and internationally.

Over the past few months, the label has expanded its footprint through the launch of three sub-labels, Nyima Records, Tala Root Records and 34 Beat Records, while also releasing projects such as Nyima Vol.1 and Bangalore Dreams. The label has additionally signed artists including Ro Maiti and Tabitha Kagoo.

The upcoming Femme Power series is envisioned as a curated live platform spotlighting women in music across genres. Its debut edition will feature performances by Sanoli Chowdhury, Mumbai-based multidisciplinary artist Ro Maiti, and Chennai-bred singer-songwriter and classical vocalist Sahana Naresh.

Speaking about the initiative, Sanoli Chowdhury described Femme Power as “the live expression of everything Femme Music stands for,” adding that the platform is designed to give female artists the visibility, polish, and seriousness their work deserves.

Vinod Gadher said the June 7 event marks the beginning of a larger expansion plan for the brand, with additional Femme Power showcases planned across India and Europe. He added that the label is currently working on international touring opportunities for its artists in 2027.

Sanoli’s music blends ambient textures, subtle guitar passages, and understated vocals, often inspired by mysticism and personal reflection. Ro Maiti’s sound draws from soul, R&B, electronic, and alternative influences, while Sahana Naresh combines indie pop with Indian classical elements to explore themes of identity, womanhood, and emotional honesty.
