A.R. Rahman Launches Jamal, A Global Anthem Of Kindness And Unity

Music maestro A.R. Rahman has unveiled his latest single Jamal, a contemporary composition that centres on joy, kindness and the quiet power of human connection. Announcing the release on social media, Rahman shared that Jamal is “a reminder that happiness doesn’t always need a reason,” adding that the song celebrates compassion, generosity and the simple act of sharing,especially in a world that needs it now more than ever.

Composed for Burjeel Holdings, Jamal draws attention to the beauty of giving and the small gestures that bring people together across cultures and borders. At its heart, the song is a gentle celebration of being human.

The track features vocals by Shuba, Brandon Diaz and Mayssa Karaa, each bringing a distinct global sensibility to the composition. Shuba sets the emotional tone with a soulful opening, followed by Brandon Diaz’s signature Hollywood-inflected vocal textures. Mayssa Karaa’s ethereal performance adds an evocative layer, resulting in what Rahman describes as “a lullaby for humanity.” Elevating the song further is the Firdaus Orchestra, whose cinematic string arrangements lend warmth, depth and an expansive emotional sweep.

Directed by Nazeef Mohammed (BToS) and edited by Allan Fernandes, the music video was shot in Dubai and features a diverse international cast. The concept for Jamal originated with Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil of Burjeel Holdings, who envisioned a piece that reflected values of empathy, compassion and shared humanity. Rahman describes the creative journey as entirely organic, with musicians coming together to jam and allowing the song to evolve naturally.
