Nagaland Set To Welcome The 4th Asia Music Summit In Kohima

The vibrant state of Nagaland is gearing up to host the much-anticipated 4th Asia Music Summit (AMS) from February 1-3 in Kohima. An initiative of MusicConnect Asia, the event is being hosted and co-organized by the Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA) – Government of Nagaland.

TaFMA chairman, Theja Meru, has announced that preparations are in full swing, with the opening ceremony scheduled to take place at the Capital Cultural Hall, Kohima, on February 1, commencing at 6 pm. Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio is expected to grace the occasion, making it a significant start to the three-day event.

The opening ceremony is open to all, and Meru extends an invitation to the citizens of Kohima, as well as music schools in and around the region. He expresses gratitude to the chief minister for his support, deeming the event a milestone for the state's cultural landscape.

Acknowledging the support of Abu Metha, advisor to the chief minister of Nagaland and chairman of the Investment & Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), Meru emphasizes the Summit's unique nature as a three-day "Knowledge Extravaganza." It will feature 10-12 festival directors from around the world sharing their expertise.

Delegates' registration will commence at the Capital Cultural Hall, Kohima, on February 1 at 3 pm and will continue at RCEMPA from 8:30 am onwards on February 2. On-the-spot registration will be available for those who haven't registered online.

The Summit will focus on collaboration with musicians from various regions. Meru highlights that this strategic move aims to leverage the power of music as a marketing tool for El Nabil, in talks with musicians, including prominent figures from the US and France.

The list of delegates includes renowned figures such as Jason Mayall (UK/Japan), Alejandro Orellana Quiroz (Santiago De Chile), Alfredo Caxaj (Ontario, Canada), Carlos Seixas (Portugal), Fabio Scopino (Italy), Lama Hazboun (Jordan), Poom Piyasu Komaradat (Thailand), Sungchun Lee (South Korea), Franki Raden (Indonesia), Riju Tuladhar (Nepal), Sonam Dorji (Bhutan), Mehreen Mahmud (Bangladesh), Abu Metha (India), Moa Subong (India), Khyochano TCK (India), Shyamkanu Mahanta (India), Ujjwal Mukhia (India), Divya Bhatia (India), Eddie Prithviraj (India), and Rumpa Banerjee (India).

The Summit will include workshops, mentoring sessions, panel discussions, business networking, one-to-one sessions, and more at RCEMPA Jotsoma on February 2 and 3.

With participation confirmed from 12 countries, including Japan, Santiago De Chile, Ontario-Canada, Portugal, Italy, Jordan, Thailand, South Korea, Indonesia, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, and host India, the event is set to be a crucial platform for musicians, artists, and industry professionals.

The 4th Asia Music Summit seeks to foster the exchange of ideas and concepts, creating partnerships within Asia and globally.
