India’s rising I-Pop sensation OutStation is set to make their biggest debut yet ,opening for global superstar Akon during the Mumbai leg of his three-city India tour on November 16 at NESCO, Goregaon.
Mentored by Savan Kotecha, the 17-time Grammy nominee and hitmaker behind artists like The Weeknd, Ariana Grande, and One Direction, the five-member boy band will deliver a high-energy set featuring original tracks ,setting the stage for an unforgettable night.
“This is a godsent opportunity,” the band shared. “Akon is a cultural icon whose music has defined generations. Sharing the stage with him is an honor and a defining moment for us.”
Often dubbed India’s answer to One Direction and BTS, OutStation has already built a loyal following through their groundbreaking debut event, ‘OutStation Prom’, India’s first-ever teen pop prom night. The sold-out event in Mumbai drew thousands of fans and featured surprise appearances by artists like Anuv Jain, Akshath, and Bharat Chandak, celebrating the spirit of community and youth culture in Indian pop.
“We wanted to create a space where young people could celebrate and feel at home,” the band said. “Everything we do as OutStation should feel special, and the Prom was just the beginning.”
The group, comprising Bhuvan Shetty (Udupi), Hemang Singh (Prayagraj), Mashaal Shaikh (Goa), Kurien Sebastian (Delhi), and Shayan Pattem (Hyderabad) , was formed through Visva Records, a joint venture by Savan Kotecha, Republic Records, and Universal Music India, following an intensive nationwide talent hunt and month-long bootcamp.
Their debut single drops on November 18, 2025, just two days after their landmark performance , a strategic move that positions OutStation as trailblazers of India’s growing teen pop movement.
With the backing of Represent and Jugaad Motion Pictures, and Kotecha’s global vision steering their journey, OutStation stands ready to put Indian pop on the world map , one performance at a time.
