Veteran actor and Member of Parliament Hema Malini is set to embark on a new artistic journey as she prepares to make her live singing debut at a special musical event in Mumbai.
According to reports, the actress will take the stage as a singer for the first time at The Dream Girl’s Diamond Jubilee Concert, a charity event being organised in support of the Cine & TV Artistes' Association (CINTAA).
Scheduled for July 10, the concert will celebrate Hema Malini’s remarkable six-decade-long contribution to Indian cinema. Built around the theme “Legends Ki Kahani, Legends Ki Zubaani,” the evening will revisit key moments from her illustrious film career through music, storytelling and live performances.
The event will feature songs associated with some of her most memorable films, with Hema Malini herself expected to perform select numbers. Organisers have also planned a surprise performance as part of the show's finale.
Designed as a musical retrospective, the concert will trace significant milestones from the actress’s personal and professional journey, offering audiences a nostalgic look back at one of Hindi cinema’s most celebrated careers.
A 15-member live orchestra will accompany the performances throughout the evening.
Ahead of the event, a press conference was held at the CINTAA office and attended by several prominent figures from the film and music fraternity, including Suresh Wadkar, Shabbir Kumar, Anu Malik, Poonam Dhillon, Padmini Kolhapure, RJ Anirudh Chawla and Vijeyta Pandit.
Despite her active role in public life and politics, Hema Malini has continued to maintain close ties with the entertainment industry. She was last seen on screen in Shimla Mirchi, directed by Ramesh Sippy and co-starring Rajkummar Rao and Rakul Preet Singh.
With her upcoming live singing debut, the iconic actress is poised to add yet another chapter to a career that has spanned more than six decades across cinema, dance and public service.
