Indian Electronica Producer Alboe Drops New Album Enroute 24 Straight From Delhi

New Delhi-based electronica producer and singer Alboe aka A Little Bit Of Everything found inspiration for his new album in the most unlikely of places – in something that actor Shah Rukh Khan said.

This quote by the Bollywood superstar – “I love being recognised, I love people liking me, I love the fact that people scream when I go out. I think I’ll miss that when it's taken away” – set the young producer thinking about success and fame and the journey people had to traverse across different milestones and failures.

Alboe’s new album, Enroute 24, is the result of those thoughts that emerged from reading about hyper-successful people like SRK, Elon Musk, Warren Buffet, Joe Rogan and others. The nine-track album is centred around a fictional story of hyper fame, and each composition denotes the start, the struggles, fulfilment, insecurities, curiosity, and hard work that go into achieving the unthinkable.

“The album was inspired by the journey of success,” says Alboe. “Interviews of people like Elon Musk, SRK, Warren Buffet, Joe Rogan and so on flooded my social media, and my subconscious picked different stages of their success and made songs on each different stage. Each song depicts the various perspectives of ambition and denotes the start, the struggles, fulfilment, insecurities, curiosity, and hard work that go into achieving high-strung goals,” he explains the concept behind the album.

And these lessons, he hopes, is also what listeners take from the album. “I would like the listeners to also break away from what is generally accepted in their work, and try to be more creative. Take risks, make mistakes, learn and move forward.”

Alboe’s affinity for seamlessly blending classical Indian sounds with western influences has been well documented through his earlier efforts – debut album The Painter and 2023-released EP Love Languages.  In Enroute 24, which is essentially a house music album infused with warm Indian classical vocals and sounds, Alboe’s further finesses his approach to dance music.

Enroute 24 is a microcosm of the ideas that flow through Alboe’s brain. Indian instruments like the tabla, harmonium and santoor and sargam match steps with house music, breakbeats, and percussive melodies, switching from Hindi to English and back as the mood dictates.

“This album is definitely more me as I continue to explore the range that depicts my core,” he says, adding, “The fusion of more Indian classical elements along with electronica has allowed the compositions to come more easily.”

The idea for the album opener ‘Imarat’ (a tall building), a Hindustani classical-infused production replete with Kabir dohas, was inspired by the process of working on your strengths till you stand out. ‘The Alligator’, uses an allegorical story of a crocodile and house music to tell a song about courage and overcoming severe adversity as does ‘The Whale’ with breakbeat.

Enroute 24 will release on October 11 and will be available across streaming platforms.Alboe is the moniker of Hindustani classical trained vocalist Vedant Chandra.
