Spotify Adds ‘Kids And Family Music’ Toggle To Personalised Recommendations

Spotify has introduced a new setting that allows users to stop children’s and family music from influencing their personalised recommendations and listening insights. The feature is rolling out globally on mobile for both Free and Premium users.

The new toggle, “Include kids and family music in taste profile,” can be switched off under Settings and privacy → Content and display. Once disabled, music such as nursery rhymes, family TV themes and animated-film soundtracks will no longer shape recommendations.

The change also affects Discover Weekly, Daily Mix and Wrapped, with Spotify applying the setting retroactively to previously streamed kids and family music. The platform says it can take up to 48 hours for the changes to reflect in recommendations.

Users can still search for, stream and create playlists featuring kids’ and family music; the setting only prevents those streams from influencing their personal taste profile.
