Radhika Das Releases Hara Mahadeva From Upcoming EP Lightfall

Globally renowned kirtan artist and Bhakti yoga teacher Radhika Das has released his latest single, Hara Mahadeva, the second track from his upcoming EP Lightfall. Rooted in devotion, the chant invokes the divinity of Lord Shiva, blending spiritual depth with immersive soundscapes.

Produced by Seattle-based, Grammy-nominated producer Ryan Hadlock, the track is driven by Das’ evocative vocals, creating a meditative sonic experience that aims to connect listeners with a sense of inner stillness and spiritual unity. Unlike the EP’s first single Sita Rama Jaya, which fused contemporary elements with traditional chants, Hara Mahadeva leans into a more stripped-back, devotional approach.

Drawing from ancient bhakti traditions, the chant reflects a return to simplicity and spiritual essence. Through the invocation of Shiva as ‘Hara’,the remover of obstacles, and ‘Mahadeva’,the supreme lord,Das honours the purity of age-old practices without reinterpreting them for modernity, instead preserving their original intent and depth.

The single’s cover art further reinforces its spiritual narrative, featuring Mount Kailash illuminated by the first rays of dawn, with a trishul standing prominently in the frame. The imagery symbolises aspiration and renewal, with the mountain representing spiritual grounding and the light signifying new beginnings.

Speaking about the release, Das said, “‘Hara Mahadeva’ is a chant that carries both power and humility. In the Bhakti tradition, Lord Shiva is honoured as the ultimate bhakti yogi. With Lightfall, my intention is to honour these timeless mantras while presenting them in a soundscape that feels alive and accessible for today’s listeners, whether through headphones, playlists or live experiences.”

Recognised as a key figure in the global conscious music movement, Radhika Das continues to bridge traditional spirituality with modern listening habits. His upcoming EP Lightfall is positioned as a meditative offering for contemporary audiences seeking deeper connection through the enduring practice of mantra and chant, with Hara Mahadeva standing as a reflection of that vision.
