Jyotsna Koundal Joshi Exits JioSaavn After Eight-Year Stint

Jyotsna Koundal Joshi, Head – Strategy & Analytics at JioSaavn, has announced her departure from the music streaming platform after an eight-year stint.

Sharing the update on LinkedIn, Joshi reflected on her career journey, recalling how she made the move eight years ago from Morgan Stanley Investment Banking to join the then-emerging startup that was beginning a new chapter after becoming part of Jio.

Recalling the transition, Joshi said she had experienced a mix of “anxiety or excitement” in the days leading up to her joining. A bouquet delivered to her home a week before she started, accompanied by a note, became a memorable welcome to what she described as the “madness” of the new journey.

Looking back on her eight years at JioSaavn, Joshi described the experience as akin to “listening to a beautifully curated playlist,” taking her through a wide spectrum of personal and professional experiences.

“Yesterday marked my last day at JioSaavn,” Joshi wrote, adding that as she looks back on the past eight years, which covered nearly all of her thirties, she leaves with the feeling that it was “time well spent.”

Joshi also expressed gratitude to the colleagues and people who were part of the chapter, noting that she had tried to thank each of them personally.

Reflecting on the journey that began with uncertainty, Joshi said the note that welcomed her eight years ago had introduced her to the “madness,” while looking back today, she realised that “there was always a method to it.”

She concluded her post with a farewell to the platform: “Sayonara, JioSaavn.”

Joshi’s exit marks the end of an eight-year chapter with JioSaavn, following a career transition from investment banking into the digital music and technology ecosystem.
