Cannes Lions-winning campaign expands with cinematic film after Barcelona debut
Sting Energy has released the official music video for "The Sting Within Me," extending its Formula 1 campaign by turning a viral fan moment into a music-led brand experience that blends motorsport, entertainment and digital storytelling.
Created in collaboration with Formula 1, the campaign originated from a viral online observation in which fans likened the sound of Formula 1 cars to the word "Sting." The idea was brought to life with the track's live debut at the Formula 1 Barcelona Grand Prix and has since evolved into a global campaign spanning race weekends, creators and digital platforms.
The newly launched music video, featuring Alan Walker's signature visual style, combines the roar of Formula 1 engines, race-day intensity and stadium energy to recreate the excitement of a Grand Prix for audiences beyond the track.
The campaign has also received international recognition, winning a Silver Lion at Cannes Lions 2026 for transforming a fan-driven cultural insight into a multi-platform marketing campaign connecting music, sport and popular culture.
Commenting on the campaign, Vandita Pandey, Vice President, Marketing, PepsiCo International Beverages, Hydration and Energy, said what began as a simple fan observation has grown into a global anthem, with the music video offering fans a more immersive way to experience the sound and emotion of Formula 1.
Alan Walker said the energy and rhythm of the track were inspired by the atmosphere of a Formula 1 race weekend, while the music video was designed to recreate the excitement he experienced during its live premiere in Barcelona.
