A four-day Indian classical music festival is underway at Chowdiah Memorial Hall in Bengaluru, showcasing a rich programme of Carnatic music and ensemble performances. The event, organised by the Bharatiya Samagana Sabha, runs from February 5 to February 8 under the theme “Purana Gitam,” bringing together both established and emerging artists from the Carnatic tradition.

Each evening features two sessions of performances, including solo vocal and instrumental concerts as well as collaborative pieces by ensembles of talented musicians. The festival’s concluding night on February 8 is expected to highlight special ensemble works that blend melody and rhythm in vibrant classical expressions.

Throughout the festival, the Sabha also honours distinguished contributors to Indian classical music with its annual awards ,including recognition for veteran violinists and promising young vocalists , celebrating both heritage and innovation in the art form.
