Papon’s Soul-Stirring Pune Concert Draws A Packed House Of 2,000+ Fans

Papon’s December concert in Pune unfolded as a deeply emotive, immersive experience, drawing an overwhelming response from fans who packed Oasis at Amanora Mall to capacity and beyond. With the venue completely sold out, audiences spilled into adjoining restaurant spaces, lined up along railings and even peered over blacked-out curtains, all eager to catch a glimpse of the singer long before he stepped on stage.

As anticipation built, the evening eventually eased into a warm, unhurried rhythm once Papon arrived, commanding the room with the earthy sincerity and textured vocals that have long defined his music. Moving fluidly through a setlist of beloved Bollywood hits and Coke Studio favourites, he created a space where the audience sang along, swayed gently and lingered in shared nostalgia.

Among the night’s standout moments were Moh Moh Ke Dhaage and Jiye Kyun, both of which drew thunderous applause. Jiye Kyun closed the concert on a soaring, emotional high, leaving the crowd visibly moved. Papon also paid tribute to timeless classics, including Lag Ja Gale, adding a layer of quiet elegance and demonstrating his gift for reinterpreting iconic melodies with restraint and grace.

For many in attendance, the concert carried personal significance. Sheetal Gadhiya, an HR professional visiting Pune, said she had waited years to experience Papon live. “Every new song of his somehow becomes my favourite. Right now, I’m hooked on Qayde Se from Metro… In Dino. I’m not originally from Pune,I’m here visiting friends, and what a time to do that,” she said.

Others found themselves unexpectedly overwhelmed by the experience. Civil engineer Pratik Nalawade shared that the evening quickly became his favourite concert to date, adding that Moh Moh Ke Dhaage was the song that first made him fall in love with Papon’s voice. IT professional Mangesh Tarukhakar, attending his very first concert, echoed the sentiment. “I couldn’t have asked for it to be anyone but Papon. I’m immensely happy to be here,” he said.

With seamless shifts from folk-inflected softness to sweeping emotional crescendos, the concert transcended the idea of a standard live performance. Instead, it felt like a collective pause—an evening of shared stories, stillness and song, reminding Punekars why Papon continues to be one of the most cherished voices in contemporary Indian music.
