YouTube Music has introduced a new AI Playlist feature for Premium subscribers, allowing users to generate personalised playlists simply by describing what they want to listen to ,either through text or voice prompts. The update, confirmed by the company on X (formerly Twitter), is now rolling out on both Android and iOS devices for YouTube Music Premium and YouTube Premium users.
With the new feature, subscribers can input a mood, genre, activity or theme into the AI tool, and YouTube Music will automatically assemble a playlist tailored to that description, saving listeners the time and effort of manually adding individual tracks.
The rollout represents YouTube Music’s continued push to enhance the listening experience using artificial intelligence and to differentiate its paid offering in a competitive streaming landscape that has seen rival platforms such as Spotify roll out similar AI-driven features.
YouTube’s AI Playlist joins a broader set of AI integrations across Google products and reflects the company’s strategy to make its subscription services more appealing by building smarter, more personalised tools for users.
